New York State maple farm unveils event centre

Couples with a devotion to the moreish sweet topping can now tie the knot at a maple farm, after Boxer Maple Farm unveiled a new events centre on its grounds.

The organic maple syrup production hub is one of the oldest in America’s New York state; dating all the way back to 1928. Now, the farm is taking full advantage of its charming setting – a timber-framed building set in 1,000 acres of woods – with the opening of The Maplery.
Expected to be a venue of choice for wedding organisers – as well as birthday parties and functions – The Maplery will offer the options of add-ons such as maple syrup bottles and candies for guests.

Speaking to the Daily News, Warren Boxler, who operates the farm with his father David, revealed that the new building was initially intended for maple syrup production, rather than an events space.

He told the publication:

“It turned out so nice that everyone started asking, ‘Are you doing weddings or events here?’ so we decided to do that. We never planned on it, but we’re going for it now. I mean, it is beautiful.”

Boxler Maple Farm taps almost 32,000 trees across its woods during maple season. Not only that, but it is also responsible for 5,200 cattle, which is a year-round undertaking. Furthermore, not only are Dad and son involved – Warren and David are joined by sister Nikki and the children’s mother, Ella.
