Dark Chocolate Maple Truffle Recipe
These dark chocolate maple truffles are rich, velvety and naturally sweetened with pure maple syrup. They make a perfect treat for someone special.
Makes 10 truffles.
Ingredients
- 225g dark chocolate, finely chopped
- 125ml double cream
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons Pure Amber Rich Maple Syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- Cocoa powder, for dusting
Instructions
- Place the finely chopped chocolate into a heatproof bowl. Warm the cream in a saucepan until it just begins to simmer. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and leave it to stand for a couple of minutes.
- Add the softened butter, maple syrup and vanilla. Stir until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. Transfer the bowl to the fridge and chill for around 2 hours, or until firm.
- Spoon the mixture into 10 to 12 portions and return to the fridge for a further 30 minutes to firm up slightly.
- Roll each portion into a ball, then coat in cocoa powder.
- Serve immediately or store chilled until ready to enjoy.
