Dark Chocolate Maple Truffle Recipe

These dark chocolate maple truffles are rich, velvety and naturally sweetened with pure maple syrup. They make a perfect treat for someone special.

Makes 10 truffles.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Place the finely chopped chocolate into a heatproof bowl.
    Warm the cream in a saucepan until it just begins to simmer.
    Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and leave it to stand for a couple of minutes.
  2. Add the softened butter, maple syrup and vanilla.
    Stir until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
    Transfer the bowl to the fridge and chill for around 2 hours, or until firm.
  3. Spoon the mixture into 10 to 12 portions and return to the fridge for a further 30 minutes to firm up slightly.
  4. Roll each portion into a ball, then coat in cocoa powder.
  5. Serve immediately or store chilled until ready to enjoy.
