Maple and Apple Tarte Tatin Recipe

The classic French tarte made easy with Pure Maple Syrup and puff pastry. Delicious served with vanilla ice cream!

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C or 180C fan or Gas Mark 6. In an ovenproof frying pan, add the butter and maple syrup and bring to a bubble. Add the prepared apples and cook until they start to soften.
  2. Arrange the apples so the rounded sides face down, then place the ready rolled pastry on top. Tuck in the edges with a palette knife, then bake for 25 minutes, or until the pastry is cooked and golden.
  3. Place a plate over the pastry and, using oven gloves, carefully turn the pan over. Take care as hot syrup can spill and burn.
  4. Serve hot with ice cream or cream.
