Maple and Peanut Butter French Toast Recipe
The sweet and salty combination of maple and peanut butter is a perfect match. Here we have made a French toast sandwich with Pure Maple Butter and peanut butter, filled with mashed banana and served with maple syrup, sliced banana, and extra peanut butter.
Ingredients
- 2 slices white bread
- 2 teaspoons Pure Maple Butter
- 5 teaspoons peanut butter
- 1 banana
- 1 egg
- 125ml milk
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil, melted
- Pure Maple Syrup, Amber Rich, to serve
Instructions
- Mash half of the banana. Spread the maple butter onto one slice of bread and around 2 teaspoons of peanut butter onto the other slice.
- Spread the mashed banana over one slice of bread and sandwich the slices together.
- Heat a large non stick frying pan over a medium heat and add the butter.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Dip both sides of the sandwich into the egg mixture.
- Carefully place the sandwich into the pan and fry for about 1 minute on each side until golden brown.
- Mix the remaining peanut butter with the melted coconut oil until runny. Slice the remaining banana and serve the French toast topped with banana slices, drizzled peanut butter, and Pure Maple Syrup.
