Maple and Date Oat Cookie Recipe

These chewy maple and date oat cookies are delicious and wholesome. Made with all natural ingredients, they take very little time to prepare.

They are perfect with a cup of tea or a glass of milk for after school snacks. You can replace the butter with coconut oil for a vegan version, or add nuts or coconut flakes to customise the mix.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 170C or 150C fan and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
  2. Melt the butter and allow it to cool slightly.
  3. Chop the dates into roughly 1cm pieces and add them to the dry ingredients.
  4. Stir the maple syrup into the melted butter.
  5. Combine all the ingredients together to form a cookie dough.
  6. Roll the mixture into walnut sized balls and place them spaced apart on the baking tray. Gently press each one to flatten slightly.
  7. Bake on the middle shelf of the oven for 10 to 15 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
