Maple Rhubarb and Apple Crumble Recipe
The simplest dessert to make but always so delicious. This maple rhubarb and apple crumble is perfect served with custard or ice cream.
Ingredients
- 300g rhubarb
- 390g Granny Smith apples

110g Pure Maple Syrup, Amber Rich
- Zest of 1 orange
- 200g plain flour
- 100g unsalted butter, chilled and cut into cubes
- 55g maple sugar or brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan, Gas Mark 6).
- Cut the rhubarb into 6cm pieces and cut the apple into similar sized chunks.
- Place the fruit in a large shallow ovenproof dish. Add the orange zest and maple syrup and mix well.
- In a food processor, blitz the flour and butter until it resembles fine breadcrumbs, then stir in the sugar.
- Scatter the crumble mixture over the fruit and spread it out evenly.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Serve with custard or ice cream.
