Pure Maple Syrup Oatie Recipe

As the days get longer and brighter we crave lighter options for breakfast. This oatie recipe is perfect for making the night before, then finishing with a drizzle of maple syrup in the morning for a quick and nutritious breakfast. It also works well made in jars to take on the go.

It is a great way to start the day, the oats are filling, and you can easily vary the fruit and nuts to keep things interesting.

Ingredients

Makes 4 large servings

For the oatie

  • 200g rolled oats
  • 250ml apple juice
  • 300g plain yoghurt
  • 1 large apple, peeled and grated
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons Canada Grade A Dark Robust Pure Maple Syrup
  • Zest of 1 orange

For the topping

  • 125g blueberries
  • 1 ripe mango, chopped into small pieces
  • 125g raspberries
  • Plain yoghurt, a couple of tablespoons per jar
  • Pure Maple Syrup, to drizzle

Instructions

  1. Mix all the oatie ingredients together in a large bowl until well combined.
  2. Spoon a quarter of the mixture into each bowl or jar.
  3. Top with blueberries, yoghurt, then the chopped mango and raspberries.
  4. Cover and store in the fridge overnight.
  5. Finish with a drizzle of pure maple syrup before serving.

Optional extras include a sprinkle of nuts or mixed seeds before serving.
