AI reshaping organic food market, says report
Artificial intelligence (AI) is having a huge impact on the global market for organic food and beverages, according to a new report.
IMARC Group has published its outlook for the sector from 2026-2034, and detailed recent influential trends.
It found a number of AI developments are dictating how the industry develops. A smart supply chain is setting AI-powered blockchain tools used to ensure organic produce, such as pure Canadian maple syrup, travels from farm to shelf, remaining intact and authentic. Consumers are benefitting from the additional transparency across supply networks.
Then there is precision demand forecasting with machine learning that is assisting organic brands in optimising their stock levels and aligning procurement with consumer demand. More personalisation options for brands to increase consumer engagement are also a result of AI-driven platforms that are capable of tailoring product recommendations to the buying habits of healthy consumers who prefer organic foods.
IMARC Group predicted on the Futurism media platform that the future looks bright for the organic food sector:
“People are actively rethinking what goes on their plate. Concerns around pesticide residues, synthetic additives, and GMOs are pushing more consumers toward certified organic options.”
The company has reported major supermarkets to be expanding their shelf space for products that are certified, and that digital marketplaces are helping to bring organic products to a greater number of consumers in smaller cities.
A headline projection of the report is that the global organic food and beverages market is set to reach a value of $1,017.9bn (£750bn) by the year 20234, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 11.51%.
